Introduction

I have been diagnosed with stage 4, metastatic colorectal cancer in October 2012, 3 days after my 44th birthday. There is no cure, but I am determined to go down the road less travelled to find one. I have setup this blog to document my journey and hopefully help others in the process.

I have studied Computer Science, but was given the option to do a double science degree at Monash Uni. I chose chemistry and ended up majoring in Organic a Bio Chemistry. Never thought that I would find a use for these subjects, but I am now finding them to be innvaluable in my search for a potential colorectal cancer cure.

My view is that if there is a cure, it does not lie with traditional chemo, but with the immune system. Time will tell.

I had a letter from nephew Hal Bailey about your search, asking if we knew anything that might be helpful. My reply is that , I do wish I had an answer. You are on the right track, however There are so many new discoveries and successful treatment that no one person could possibly know them all. Billy (my husband, living with his 4th bout of cancer in 20 years)is lucky enough to have been taking a tightly targeted chemo that did not exist 5 years ago. He was Dr. Robertson’s 2nd patient to be given this Nexavar and his tumors have almost vanished.I pray that you will be able to find the group with the answer for you. I congratulate you for your aggressive search. May God be with you.
